Church Retreat

“Strengthening Relationships… Making Memories”
The church leadership in JRAM St Albert recognizes that strengthening relationships is one of the main purposes of our Small Group Ministry. Our Church Retreat in Canmore provided this opportunity.
Saturday morning was a time to pray and reflect while enjoying the surrounding beauty of God’s creation. In the afternoon, we had small groupings of youth, men, and women where everyone had a chance to set aside the distractions of life and focus more on God. This was followed by the water baptism of two members who gave their life to Jesus. Because more time means quality time, families and singles also had plenty of time to stroll through scenic downtown Canmore to enjoy the local shops, including food and ice cream shops. Capping Saturday’s events, our worship night was another personal encounter with God. The rendition of songs aptly expressed our feelings of awe and wonder for the mighty moving of the Holy Spirit. Sunday started with an invigorating praise service while the afternoon was spent on fun and games at the park and, of course, picture-taking and picnic!
It was indeed a memorable weekend, but more importantly, everyone had the opportunity to open their heart to God and to strengthen their relationship with Him. Everyone was reminded through Pastor Grace’s teachings and preaching that we should not allow stress to get in the way of our relationship with Jesus and with our loved ones.
We look forward to more retreats and hope you would consider joining us. We are always looking for new ways to engage the community so please feel welcome to share your thoughts. God is indeed good and faithful. To God be all glory!
